Do people really think Nintendo still has the best 1st party devs? (2)

I mean two gens ago for sure, even a gen ago I'd say probably but in the ps3/wii gen no way and certainly not now. Sony has more studios making more games and making far more unique games and definitely better games from a technical perspective. I get Nintendo has the strong brands mario/zelda but those are pretty much the only games worth a damn out of all their 1st party offerings, they don't make new IPs, their games are getting stale as hell and with the exception of the main mario franchise they get a little worse with each sequel.

I really don't get how people can honestly say Nintendo has the by 1st party by a large margin when they can't even get 3 1st party games on a system in it's first 6 months, their devs are so behind the times and their games are so stagnated that the quality is declining, I mean really people need to open their eyes and realize just how much Nintendo has slipped since the n64 days.

Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.

You got a point but what has Sony ever done that could be considered as iconic as Mario / Zelda? TBH Nintendo's biggest crime is not using enough of the NES era IPs and bringing those into the future. I would love a Kid Icarus for the Wii U even like a simple HD update of Excite bike with fun physics would be cool.

I should work for nintendo

What new IPs has Nintendo made recently (or even since Sony entered the gaming buisness) as iconic as mario/zelda? There's no denying that Nintendo has incredibly strong brands/franchises but those brands/franchises are incredibly old and Nintendo has been skating on them forever and the actual quality of the games is getting worse and worse and thanks to the wii their devs are so far behind they are struggling with HD development of a game originally intended for wii...

My argument is about the current state of Nintendo's first party devs and their current competence not what they were 25 years ago or even 5 years ago.

How's that proof nothing Nintendo ever did was a rip off of digimon in anyway? Hell that's not even proof Pokemon came before digimon.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Capsule_Monsters

Pokemon started to exist in 1990.

Digimon didn't start to exist until 1997.

And if you have some specific examples of how Nintendo ripped off Digimon, I'd like to hear it.

I preferred Sony's 1st party offerings on the PS3 to Nintendo's first party offering on the Wii, so right now I'd go with Sony over Nintendo. I'm anxious to see what Nintendo can do with their new hardware, though. I just hope that Nintendo Land and NSMBU aren't indicative of whatever else they're working on right now, because those two games were disappointing in nearly every regard, in my view.

That's not even proof pokemon as a concept wasn't a rip off of digimon, you have to prove the devs got the idea for pokemon without hearing about the idea for digimon and even then that's only one small thing of Nintendo's you disproved you still have to proof everything else about pokemon wasn't a rip off in anyway then you have to do that with everything Nintendo produced since digimon was conceived, once you do that I'll respond.

I don't think it's indicative persay, I think they were just cheap and easy titles, but Nintendo really is struggling with HD development so I don't think they'll improve over wii much, but atleast they got rid of motion controls but they have a new gimmick to shoehorn...
