How many WiiUs need to sell before EA puts tail between their legs??

Just curious.

I'm sure they'll keep on being lazy and lie until they see real money going to Ubisoft and Activision. Then they'll lie and say they were always big Nintendo huggers.

By this time next year, if Wii U sales are around 12-15 mil, I think they'd come back.

Especially if PS4 / Nextbox sales are like 3 mil.

Thing is, attach rate for 3rd party is a lot higher on those platforms than on Nintendo. There is more money to be made at 6M combined user base for PS4/720 than there is on 12M Wii U's.

That's a myth, the attach rate is actually almost identical between all 3 systems. Even if the others do have a few percentage points advantage, it certainly wouldn't be enough to overcome a two-fold install base increase.

Now, it is true that some games sell better on certain systems due to demographic issues, but its not as simple as a universal "third party games sell best on Sony". Sega games, for example, tend to sell best on Nintendo platforms.

Also, neither 6 mil nor 12 mil is even close to being enough to support a high-budget game. Even 18 mil probably isn't enough. EA's going to have to support everything they can, you'll likely see their games coming out on all of PS3 / 360 / Wii U / PS4 / Nextbox / Vita for the foreseeable future.

As awful a company as EA is (in my opinion), it just makes you look rather childish to passive aggressively attack them with terms like "tail between their legs" and accusations of lying for what is a perfectly understandable, impersonal business decision.

If you think that's "strong language" I'd like to welcome you to the Internet.

And yes, it is a business decision, they're claiming the won't support Wii U right now because Wii U is the industry's whipping boy and they think they can earn gamer cred by piling on. However, once Nintendo proves everyone wrong yet again, they'll instantly reverse their decision, because they're just in this to make money. They don't really "take sides", even if they suggest that they do.

wow stop talking. The Wii oringal sold more units then either sony or MS yet their 3rd party games sold like crap, Can you argue that fact? If not then you're dead wrong.

probably when they hit 10 million+ units, though I also guess it'll have to have a significant lead on the PS4 and Nextbox

EA is a business if they won't turn a profit on developing for Wii U then they won't do it. They don't want to lose money.
