Going to a game shop and buy a retail game. and then going home just to discovery that you have to either be online/pay for playing the game. I would throw that console in the garbage can in a second.

Good for EA now if we can just get rid of always online and locking content already on disk so they can release it as dlc on launch day then they might be able to turn there image around.

It probably because people who were buying games used weren't buying the online pass, so there were less players online.
The ship is safer in the harbour, but it is not meant for that.

The whole online pass debacle was stupid from the start. Sony is also a culprit who has not removed their Playstation Pass from their games yet. Why would I pay for an online? If I knew there was a pass required, I would probably deduce the online wasn't worth playing anyways, and not even bother with it, given how small the community would be. Unless online is a huge component of the game or is completely unique and not just tacked on garbage, I never even bother with it.

EA is dropping online passes...

.... and replacing them with only putting 1/4 of the game on the disc, making you pay for the other 3/4 digitally, and only 1/4 at a time.. each quarter of the game costs you $20 and is required you buy the quarter before, before you can play a new one.. also this is tied to your account.. not your console, but your account.. have multiple accounts on one console? better pony up that dough if your siblings/roommates/significant other wants to play on their account... oh, and the online multiplayer is a separate part of the game you must download.. again at $20

the sad part is i wouldnt be surprised if this was the case..
bored with current games..
