“We’re pretty much on one major project at a time. We do a game every two years or three years. In the first year of that, we have some extra bandwidth, so sometimes… We helped out with Mario Kart 7. We helped Monster Games do the 3DS version. Sometimes we’ll have a little bit of extra bandwidth to help out other entities at Nintendo. We really feel strongly about helping out Nintendo as a whole, so if we have time, we’ll do that. Do we have the bandwidth to do two major projects at once? I don’t think so. A big project and a little project at the same time, we can do that.”

Makes sense. Hopefully someone else is working on a 3DS Metroid Game, so Retro can do the next Wii U game in a couple years.

Screw you Retro!

Well, hopefully someone is making a Metroid Fusion-like game on 3DS. (the guys who made the Castlevania Mirror of Fate, NEED TO STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM IT!)

Now see, this is my biggest complaint with retro studios. It takes them too damn long to make games. This is why I want rare back. During the N64 days Rare made diddy kong racing, banjo-kazooie, banjo-tooie, donkey kong 64, conker's bad fur day, perfect dark, goldeneye 007, jet force gemini. That's 8 high quality games in 5 years. This is why I don't understand people who say retro is the new rare. Sure their games are great, but they're too damn slow at making them.

The fact that there are only about 100 people in the studio probably doesn't help.

2-3 years is the normal amount of time a studio takes nowadays to make a game of the quality retro has continued to produce. Does it suck for gamers? I guess but I'm fine with retro taking their time if their going to continue making awesome stuff. Although 2 years for DKCTF is a little baffling but I really haven't seen enough to say there isn't 2 years worth of development there. Also rare wasn't even trusted to make the new killer instinct trust me you don't want them back they're a shell of their former self
