Newest build of the Pre Alpha right there running on PC. Take note it only uses 1.2GB of VRAM at 1080P with 4XAA and maxed graphics options. WiiU should be able to come close I think.

Looks worse than Forza 5 in that video (though they have released screens that look much better than this), but it's impressive considering the low requirements and it's still stunning overal.

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

I hate this kind of racing sims, but if the genre gets a good multiplatform game i expect GT and Forza to lose relevance, which would be a good thing.

Gross. The only fun racing games are kart racers (Mario Kart, CTR) or action ones (Motorstorm). Sim racing games are so boring.

Did the title of this topic not give you a clue as to the content you might find within?

Anyway, I don't really agree that a single car running along a track in a barren wasteland is proof enough that Forza and GT are suddenly out of contention. If Gran Turismo manages to make good on the claims made in the trailer, I'd say it could stand to become more relevant than ever.

First, the Wii U only has 1GB worth of total memory for games. And if the game is eating up 1.2GB of vram, it's also going to be eating up quite a bit of system RAM which should easily put it over double the amount of memory that the Wii U has available.

Second, memory is only a small part of the equation. The rest of the specs in the Wii U are very low end and likely aren't even close to as good as a PC with something along the lines of an AMD 4670 with a 2.4ghz C2D. And while those specs may meet the minimum requirement to run the game, they aren't going to let you run it at high settings at 1080p or anything even remotely close to that.

Racing games always look great when they show them off at e3 with lots of CG trailer footage, careful camera angles to hide the graphical shortcomings, bullshots, etc. Remember how good GT5 looked? But when the games actually come out they tend to look pretty bad. GT5 in particular looked pretty terrible with lots of PS2 quality cars, 2D trees, obscenely low res shadows, etc. but you couldn't tell any of that from the trailers. Unless Forza 5 is somehow an exception, I doubt it's going to hold up well against Project Cars running on a good PC.

Forza 5 looks good though. I'm pretty sure it was all realtime footage. Of course, most of that detail won't be noticeable during gameplay. The only thing you can do is store a replay and then make pretty pictures and video where those details are shown... which doesn't have anything to do with gameplay.

Basically, it's a waste, IMO. GT is notable for using a lot of bull footage, but Forza is known for showing real footage like they claim. It's just not that impressive when you think about it, since it has no effect on gameplay this time around.
