Why Nintendo Doesn't See Microsoft or Sony as Competition..

Well, found an interesting figure chart today which shows why Nintendo does things the way it does, and why it doesn't see Sony or Microsoft as any real threat or competition.

SInce 1981 they've been earning a profit every year for a total of 32billion dollars, while since Sony joined the gaming industry it has only earned 1 billion, and Microsoft -6 billion.

So, honestly if the gaming market crashes again.. Nintendo will survive.

Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.

That's outrageous.
I mean, obviously it's not like they have 32.8 Billion cash or anything, but that's an insane amount of revenue.

it is kind of amazing at how much money Sony and MS have burned in the past decade.

i think nintendo doesnt view them as comp because they have their own particular audience, same way sony and MS dont view nintendo as competition. they offer a different experience.

oh wait was i just suppose to go along with it and not point out the obvious?

Question TC, is that for Sony and Microsoft's game divisions or for the companies as a whole? I'd cut Microsoft a bit of slack because they are being run by a guy with only half a brain.

Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US

So Sony and Microsoft are using all the money they make from selling consoles and games to develop the next gen hardware whilst Nintendo just make hardware with mostly old technology so they can have a nice healthy bank balance?

Nintendo's first loss in 30 years was with the Wii in 2012

I have a feeling 2013 with the WiiU will be similar. But still, Nintendo clearly knows how to make money, and have plenty of bank to turn things around.

this is just a shape of things to come

1) Their first loss was actually for the fiscal year from April 2011 to March 2012.

2) The next fiscal year has actually already ended, and Nintendo made a small profit.
