Anybody Else Wish to Argue About UE4?
Months ago I was pointing out how next gen games after the transitional period were going to be running mostly on engines which the Wii U would be incapable of running (namely, UE4). Naysayers came on claiming that may not be the case. I clearly stated and explained WHY this WOULD be the case. Do you people need further proof?
Here's the deal, MOST developers are NOT Ubisoft, Activision, EA, Capcom, etc. MOST developers RELY on commercially licensed engines such as UE4 because such engines allow them to focus on building an actual game rather than wasting time and resources building entirely new engines for each game. For developers to bring UE4 games over to the Wii U they would essentially have to rebuild their game INCLUDING jury rigging in a new engine. There's no deployment path from UE4 down to UE3. Epic did not bother to provide such a path because it does NOT make any business sense. Just like how it makes NO business sense for Epic to go out of their way to provide a porting path for UE4 to something that is Wii U compatible, it makes FAR less sense for developers to spend the time and resources of essentially rebuilding their UE4 based games just for the sake of getting a Wii U version out. Budgets are already constrained, why constrain it further by making a separate version of a game just to serve a minority audience?

I can't speak for everybody, but I never was adamant that Wii U would get UE4 games.
All I said was it's silly to contend that WIi U is too weak to possibly run UE4 and UE4 games. Epic just seems to have no interest in porting it. Anyway, hardly anything's using UE4 at this point, so the jury's still out on it's importance with regard to the Wii U. EA won't use it, Ubi has all proprietary stuff, and Activision hasn't used Unreal Engine much to my knowledge. Smaller devs might stick with cheaper options like Unity or even UE3. We'll see.
Is that the article saying ue4 can technically be used but it would need to be scaled back so much you might as well be using the far cheaper ue3?

WOW. Again with your ridiculousness. JUST like I had pointed out MONTHS ago, ALL THAT BS ARTICLE/NEWS BIT MEANT WAS THE FOLLOWING: You could certainly PORT a UE4 game over to the Wii U but what you are essentially doing is REBUILDING the game engine. You can PORT ANY game using ANY ENGINE over to ANY SYSTEM but the question here is does it make any financial sense to essentially REBUILD A GAME ENGINE FROM SCRATCH just to support a minority audience.
I even went through this point IN DETAIL with the initial post IN THIS THREAD. What part of this is so hard for you to comprehend or are you just going to go off with more random nonsense as usual and giving links and BS references COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTEXT just so you can apologize for Nintendo being left out?
AGAIN: There is NO direct porting path from UE4 to any Wii U compatible game engine. To bring a UE4 based game to the Wii U would involve REBUILDING a game essentially from scratch in terms of the game engine. NOBODY is going to do such an idiotic thing. The reason they use UE4 in the first place is to streamline development and reduce development time and cost. Rebuilding a game to support the Wii U and having to rebuild it essentially from scratch completely contradicts why a developer would use a commercially available licensed engine in the first place.
