I thought most of their senior member that brought the company up moved on to other studios like monolith .-.

SE is very close to failing, but that's because they've sucked for a while now.

They forgot what the PS1 days were like. Variety and good games. FF has been a bad joke for a while now. They just can't get out of their heads that looking good, don't make a good game.

They'll go bankrupt sometime in the next few years and cry "There was nothing we could have done differently!"

You could have made better games on lower budgets, morons.

They've been going downhill ever since Sakaguchi left.

Its not a coincedence.

The way I see it is that now that we do have a FF game that does look promising, because of past failures and disappointments, some fans will never let them "redeem" themselves and will view each and every release negatively in some way.

It's why there hasn't been a FF game "better" than VII.

^This. Between losing him and the massive financial blow, that damned Final Fantasy movie wrecked Square. In terms of their in-house stuff, KHIII and FFXV might darn well be the last chance to turn it around.

Though, to be somewhat fair, the stuff they aquired from Eidos has done reasonably well (Deus Ex: Human Revolution was fantasic, and the newest Tomb Raider reboot seems to have gone over well).
Either the worst great player or the best horrible player you'll ever meet.

They have been dead since PS2 days.

Ever since Sakaguchi/Uematsu left after developing X, he took majority of the Square Soft development team with him. Mistwalker is more Square Soft than anything.

The remaining portion of the team made Monolithsoft.

Rest of Square only has the Dragon Quest team+ Tetsuya Nomura/ Yohistaka Amano/Yoshinari Kitase
Currently playing:
Parasite Eve, Metroid Other M, Link's Awakening, Shadow of the Collosus
