This 3DS port Mario game is nice and all but...

Wait, people actually believe this game was made ground up for the Wii U initially?

Lmao. How naive can you get. Doesn't take a genius to figure out mediocre sales is the reason they turned this 3DS game into a Wii U game.

I guess this means Half-Life 2 is a port of Counter-Strike: Source, since they both use the same engine.

Source that this is a 3DS game?

Take a good look at the footage.

The particle effects, the color spectrum, the simplistic artstyle, the scope all resembles that of a 3DS game. Or you could just notice it looks exactly like Super Mario 3D Land which did come out for the 3DS.

You must also think that each NSMB iteration is super fresh. Derp!

It doesn't matter how "fresh" you think they are. They're still new games and not ports. DERP!

Transfer (software) from one system to another.

Super Mario 3D Land 3DS ------------------>> Super Mario 3D World Wii U

Except super Mario 3D world is a brand new game. So it's not a port. Derp!

Its amazing how you found the definition but still can't use it right! How is it a port when it has, new levels, four player co-op, new playable characters, different story, entirely new gameplay elements, new power-ups, new music, new graphics, different controls (you actually control the camera in this one), new bosses, and new themes?

You must also think that each NSMB iteration is super fresh. Derp!

I consider the NSMB series as ports, and the "NEW" (lol new) 3D series as ports in the same way.

lol kid can't even come up with a real argument so he just nonsensically repeats himself. And who cares if YOU call it a port? A hillbilly can call a car a spaceship, it doesn't mean it is one.

Mario64 was revolutionary. It created a rash of 3d platformers like crash, sly, spyro etc. This new mario is like 2.5 d. I dont understand why they didnt try something that lived up to the past games and then some.

Go actually watch the direct and come back.

It's completely 3d and has a controllable camera.

What is this? It shares the same artstyle (a sequel sharing a prequel's artstyle? No, really?) and its color spectrum (???) so therefore its a 3DS game turned into a Wii U game. How's La-La Land?

You expect Nintendo to admit "Yeah this was actually a 3DS game at first, but halfway through development we realized our other system was kind of flopping and desperately needed games so we decided to port it"?

You might find this shocking but this would not be good for PR.
