THIS is how I wanted Off TV Play to work on Wii U

Sony confirmed that Remote Play which allows PS4 games to be streamed onto the PS Vita will be through the internet, meaning you can play PS4 games on the go and not be bogged down by such a limited range (sadly the Wii U Off TV play is very limited).

Why didn't Nintendo design the Wii U like this with the gamepad? The Wii U would have sold like crazy making the gamepad something you take with you to play the games on the go

Because if they built in internet streaming capabilities into the controller that comes with the console, the cost would skyrocket.

Note that the Vita is an entirely standalone piece of hardware that is designed to work without the PS3 and has internet capabilities built-in. Also note that it's freaking $250. Now imagine how much the Wii U would cost if it had a controller like that, and imagine all the people who would still complain that the controller was gimmicky and useless.

The Vita is a handheld, not a controller. You're going to have to pay extra for the Vita that doesn't really have that many worthwhile games at the moment, like the Wii U.

I actually agree that I wish the tablet had wifi support. That would be ace.

However, 1 frame latency over wifi simply isn't possible. Ideally, they'd use GGPO, but it's not always possible to integrate GGPO with games that weren't designed for it because it requires the system to be able to run the game much faster than at its native framerate. Unfortunately, you're probably looking at the same delayed mess that was PSP's remote play.

Lol @ TC thinking games will actually be playable. Good luck playing Infamous like that on the hardest difficulty and not raging so hard that you'll wreck your Vita instead of controller.

Well that is fine and dandy if you go all digital

The point is to play under wifi, I don't think remote play allows a 3G connection. Wifi remote play is you want to play console games at college or McDonald's. Funny you say limited range when the wiiu only allows 25feet
