You honestly think the PS3 will beat the Wii, especially after the PS4 is released? Wow.

Okay here's a short overview:

-The Wii is selling close to nothing now. It is consistently being outsold by the PS3 by over 100,000 every week. By the end of this year, the PS3 will sell around 83 million, and the Wii will barely pass 100 million. (for monthly sales, check mediacreate and NPD).

-The PS2 sold 55 million units since the PS3 launched, this is mostly due to emerging markets. Those emerging markets are all Sony territory, and they will eventually upgrade to the PS3. Assuming the PS3 only manages half of what the PS2 did, the PS3 will sell around 28 million units during the life of the PS4 (this is on the low side, as I expect greater than 50% of PS2 owners to upgrade to PS3). Out of the 28 million, the majority, or 20 million, will be sold in the next 3 years.

-This means, in 3 years, the PS3 will be at 105 million units sold.

-The Wii will be discontinued in a year as Nintendo is already closing its online servers and it is selling close to nothing. Therefore, the Wii will settle between 100-103 million.

The PS3 will continue to sell 8 million more units, effectively ending at around 113 million units sold all-time, and finishing 1st place in sales for the 7th generation.

There you go, hope you learned something.

Same for the Xbox 360. It already passed the Wii on the UK and it's very close on the US. Also MS will continue to support the 360 just like Sony the PS2.

It will be fun to check this gen totals in 3 years.

It will be interesting. But WTF is the point to "winning" a generation? What do you win exactly?

The WiiU is struggling, but the software coming out this fall will rebound the sales.

Somehow, I remember reading the same quotes about the N64 and Gamecube. People sure give up too fast on history.

Because the 3rd Party support for the Gamecube in the west was spectacular, wasn't it?

Try this for a reasoned debate: A consoles sales directly affect me as a consumer because the majority of 3rd party games ignore the console, just like they did with the N64, GC, and now the WiiU. How is it that you say I as a consumer shouldn't worry about how the WiiU is selling?

Because the Wii U is still going to have a fairly unique library of games that other consoles won't get, and it is going to get third party support just not all the same games as other consoles. The uniqueness of its library will be its selling point, especially with all the indy developers coming out of the wood work to make games for it since Nintendo is the only console allowing developers to self publish.

Of course this isn't really reasoned debate from you, since you're still contradicting yourself by talking about console libraries after you said that's not what you're talking about.

Third party support? Exactly what type of meaningful third party support is it going to get? Will the WiiU get FF, KH, MGS, GTA, BF, Destiny, Titanfall, along with plenty of new AAA IPs? No? Then the 3rd party support is completely irrelevant/non-existant.

Because the "uniqueness" of the N64 and Gamecube's library really helped sell the console, right? And Indie games sell consoles?

You've got nothing but blind fanboy optimism surging through your posts. There is nothing in the future that will help the WiiU turn around. It will be the next Gamecube, and that is a fact. If that level of console mediocrity is fine with you, then go ahead and enjoy. It doesn't change the fact that the WiiU is and will struggle to stay relevant.

3rd party support for all Nintendo home consoles since the N64 has been poor.

Still trolling? After all this time? That's cute.

Anyway, we were talking about how sales won't affect you as a consumer because it will get a great library anyway. So sales still don;t affect you as a consumer any more than profitability does, and you're still talking about libraries even though you said that's not what this was about.

You've got nothing contradictory statements and trolling surging through your posts.

Sorry, I was busy playing games on the PS3 to reply to your posts; you seem to reply to my posts almost instantly everyday. Got nothing to play on your WiiU so you stick around Gfaqs all day?

No, we're talking about how sales affect you as a consumer because it will not get good 3rd party support. Which is exactly what is happening.

What does me talking about it have anything to do with this? By your logic, if I start talking about the Ouya, then it will be "relevant", when in reality it isn't.

Do you know how to form proper sentences, boy?

I think its more that people are realizing the faults of Nintendo. When they see their consoles having few to none third party games, Nintendo does the same thing they always do, hit the console with the typical line of first party nintendo games. They ALWAYS do this to get sales, and frankly it seems like people are aware of it now or becoming so.

It does not matter how good the games are or beloved the franchises, they honestly are just slightly different rehashes, yet the fanboys foam at the mouth for them, just like Nintendo knows they will.

Hopefully the more people wake up to this (which they are) the faster Nintendo will realize its time to do something different.
