Be honest, do you think Nintendo will become king again like in the past?

Nintendo has it's own separate "kingdom" in my opinion. It doesn't really let the other companies affect it too much.

Depends on what aspect of King you are considering. If we're talking King of first-party software there's no denying Nintendo has always reigned supreme in that aspect.

We need Castlevania: Bloodlines on Wii U VC.

The only time Nintendo wasn't king was Gamecube vs PS2

Like we all know Nintendo was arguably the top dog back in the old days of the SNES and 64 and stuff. Nowadays, a good amount of gamers consider Nintendo is a joke or a former shelf of what they used to be. Do you guys think Nintendo has what it takes to come back and reign supreme once more?

Nintendo has NEVER been a popular adult system. Even the NES was marketed as a toy. Most gamers today like to consider themselves adults (although most are still teenagers). So Nintendo managed to become king again this gen by expanding the market with the Wii. With the Wii U, they are trying to infiltrate that "adult" market.

It's very possible the Wii U could win this generation.

You mean teen system?

Nintendo do their thing, SONY and Microsoft theirs. Nintendo doesn't care about being the ''king'', all they care about is pushing out creativity and making enough sales to keep going on.

Day 1 purchases : Dark Souls 2, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Smash Bros 4, Star Citizen, LittleBigPlanet 3

Without third party support like they had for the SNES, no.

If Platinum was HAND drawn, she'd be on paper, fool. This is a video game. They just made her on screen, no "drawing" involved -Delano7 on BlazBlue

Rubbish....Nintendo is a publicly listed company, I am sure most shareholders wouldn't subscribe to creativity over sales point of view.

And no Nintendo won't become king again, the franchises are losing their lustre.

No, they subscribe to profitability. Nintendo is the most profitable gaming company because they don't inflate a game's budget to the point where it needs 5 million sales to break even like some other companies do.

You're clearly biased.

Everyone (including developers) outside of fanboys knows PS1 was the better system. PS1 sales far surpassed N64 sales, the game library was much bigger, and there were just as many (even more honestly) great games. Some genres were for all intents and purposes non-existent on N64.

Not for home consoles, but they are the king of handhelds as always even today with the 3DS.
