Planning to get a Wii u. couple of questions

#1TowerBooks3192Posted 6/29/2013 1:46:57 PM
I am planning to get a wii u after my rekindled interest for nintendo games after having animal crossing and kid icarus uprising on the 3DS. I was wondering what are games both released and confirmed (except multiplatform stuff like mass effect or something) upcoming that would warrant a wii u purchase?

So far only monster hunter grabbed my interest but since its
basically the same as the 3DS but I am looking for something the wii u has that is grind heavy and has tons of replayability.

I am getting a PS4 on xmas and I just want to get a Wii u for tax refund (hopefully they have something interesting). So far its disappointing that only Monster Hunter looks interesting for me. I would not mind it if they release something grind heavy like kid icarus uprising or monster hunter.

Too bad they don't have that many console-style JRPGs like Dragonquest.

There's a couple of rpg/dungeon crawler eShop titles [likely] hitting before the end of 2013.

Terra Incognita
Two Brothers
Unepic
Festival of Magic
Pier Solar HD

The games I'm on the lookout for:

Pikmin 3
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
Super Mario 3D Land
Mario Kart 8
X (Untitled Monolithsoft RPG)

X is, honestly, the best looking JRPG on the horizon, and the best looking JRPG since the PS2 era. It's a pretty big game to look out for.

Beyond that, there's the as-yet unreveled Wii U Zelda project.

Basically, there's plenty to look out for, even just examining Nintendo's own IPs.

And if you're coming late to the party, there are plenty of Wii games you may want to look into, not to mention SNES titles via the respective Virtual Console services.

If you're into soiling yourself, get ZombiU.

Seriously? Lol. I heard some stuff about it and how people enjoyed it. What intrigued me more about the wii u is its offscreen play.

Do most games support that? I would be happy if it supports monster hunter since my telly in my room was used as a monitor for my 2nd pc. I would really love to get it if that is the case since I could play it around my room without needing to rely on a telly.

Truth be told, nintendo made me realise that they never really changed. Theg still make fun games. So far I don't have a nintendo game that nickle and dime you every step of the way with the DLCs.

Most games seem to.

If you want something that will take a good chunk of time, I will suggest Lego City. Seriously, there is a **** ton of crap to do in it. Of course, I just recommended one of the few titles that doesn't support offscreen play, buy whateves. It makes great use of the gamepad for other stuff.
