There has been some talk of Kamiya upset over no 101 advertising...

But isn't that game 2.5 months away?

Don't most games not start getting advertisements until a month or so away? Especially Nintendo. Heck I haven't seen Pikmim 3 ads yet.

Are you kidding?
Everyone I know is talking about it.
There's advertisements in my local Wal-mart's Wii U section.

I'd say that TW101 is pretty well advertised at the moment.

Pikmin's just started to get adverts in Japan, Nintendo usually only advertise their games shortly before their release.

However Wonderful 101 is getting a Nintendo Direct dedicated to it, so if the direct sells the concept good enough I'd imagine it should convince a couple hundred thousand to buy it.

Go on Facebook and share that "Wonderful Wednesday" thing Nintendo posted on their Facebook page.

To be fair Nintendo did do a Direct for Pikmin. That said, I could've sworn they had one for 101 too.

To be fair, the overall plot of the MGS series sounds like it was written by a 7 year old on amphetamines.-CrystalKing5426

Directs are an awful way to advertise anything. Directs are for people who follow Nintendo already. The only way you're going to know if a direct exists if you subscribe to their email or if you read it on a message board. If Nintendo really wants a game to sell, they'd make commercials like this:

and put it on cartoon network or nick.

With the "monthly" release schedule they will likely do some short directs focusing on each game and some developer commentary. It'll be picked up by gaming websites which will advertise to the hardcore crowd but that won't reach the casual crowd. They need to start pushing TV Ads.

Actually, Kamiya released statements on Twitter that he was indeed let down with the amount of support he is receiving. Something along the lines of his disappointment over it's lack of coverage in magazines and conferences and it is not being marketed well. The message was in Japanese, so I am not 100% sure what it said.

What do you expect from our corrupt videogame media? Most non-AAA "games" are also being ignored.

But I can't say I'm surprised at his words being spun into a rant against Nintendo. Desperate Sony virals are desperate. Especially over at neogaf. ;)

Good point. Who advertises a product that isn't anywhere near its release date?

Answer: no one.

Movies and music are advertised around their release dates. The same goes for videogames. You won't see mainstream ads for the next CoD until the fall.

That's not to say Nintendo can't make a demo for the eshop...
