With the merger of the handeld and console divisions, the Wii U could be the last Nintendo home console. They may focus on uber powerful handhelds. If there is another Nintendo home console, it may have x86 architecture. If it does it wont have BC. They need to plan this out. Have strong enough hardware that can emulate WIi U. 4GHz quad core with 8-12 GB ddr4 would be nice and probably strong enough

PS4 can NOT do 1080p/60fps but the Wii U can LMFAO http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-hands-on-with-playstation-4

Not if it cost Nintendo too much to make.

The next Nintendo system will probably be a handheld and pretty much all portable devices use ARM.

...You do realize that two thirds of the eighth gen consoles aren't out yet, right? And you're discussing ninth gen consoles - something that probably won't happen for at least 6+ years?

I doubt Nintendo even knows for sure at this point. So this is, at best, pointless speculation.

Nintendo has already started work on the next console. All companies start working on their next piece of technology immediately and the Wii U's been out for almost a year. If you really think Nintendo doesn't have an idea in place then you need to wake up bro.

since they usually go to intel, most likely no, probably another similar architecture, using probably a higher clock modified wii u processor.
