Out of all games on Nintendo consoles/handhelds, which one scared you the most?

Super Metroid has a pretty spooky atmosphere, and the bosses were absolutely terrifying when I was a child.

As for handhelds, I'd have to with Metroid Fusion. Getting chased by the S-AX was just frightening (at least, on the first play through), mainly because it's just so unexpected and you're just like "OH **** I gotta get away so I don't have to load my previous save and get all the way back here." And the game was just brutal Adam: "It appears no humans have survived on the ship, as I was expecting..." pretty much one of the few Nintendo games with mass death.

When I was younger it was SM64. Swimming with sharks, giant crazy looking eels and fish that just pop up out of nowhere to swallow you whole kept me from getting all the stars. That **** piano didn't help either.

Recently, I'd go with ZombiU. I've never felt that much tension and satisfaction playing a game.

Good picks guys. When Nintendo wants to do horror... they do it very well.

OOT - most dungeons as an adult are at least somewhat scary
MM - creepy atmosphere and plot
SM64 - piano, need I say more?
RE4
Metroid series RIP... </3

Wow I feel slightly more positive now. Hoping they do more horror!

For me, it was probably Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube. When I played through that for the first time, I remember literally freaking out when I had to run down a corridor with the suits of armor there.

id prolly say RE4 as well

In Judge Dredd on the SNES, there's a section in Aspen Penal Colony with some items behind an electric fence. After destroying the hidden computer that powers the fence, if you try to grab the items, this mutant cockroach thing drops down from nowhere and hits you in the face with its antennae, giving a large amount of damage, and then it flees with no explanation. That made me jump the first time I saw it.

I played Conker's Bad Fur Day on my N64 recently. Zombie squirrels are a lot scarier when you have unusual controls to fight against as well.
