Smash Bros why do people hate brawl?

Can anyone tell me why the pro gaming community hates brawl and says melee is the best Smash Bros game?

Why does the pro community hate brawl? Tripping and unbalanced OP characters.

In the non pro community nobody really hates brawl

Because they love Melee too much.

Who is exactly OP in brawl, cause most people use Fox in Melee.

Metaknight. He was ridiculously OP and they even had to tourney ban him because he was too good.

As for the hate for brawl, they simplified the mechanics and made the game easier to play as well as added more randomness.

Tripping, auto-edge grabbing, and slower overall gameplay tend to be the overall complaints as to why Brawl is unliked in the competitive community.

Melee IS best.
Brawl is still good. I don't get the hate. But really, I think it's like this:

Lethal Weapon > Lethal Weapon 2.

LW2 is STILL a good movie, but the first is better.

SSBB has more content, and better characters.
SSBM has better stages, better balance, better mechanics.
That's it.

Its not the pro community, its the "I think I'm pro" community.

- Random Tripping that you can't turn off.
- Campy, defensive gameplay.
- Too floaty and no hitstun, which means no combos.
- Very unbalanced roster.
- Pokeballs being nerfed.
- Target Test made far worse.
- Event matches are blander.
- All-Star Mode no longer random.
- SSE has very few Nintendo assets.

More villains need to be protagonists. BIS proves it can work.
Ridley, Ganondorf, Fawful, Bowser, and Dimentio all for their own games!

Melee is a game that appeals to both casual and competitive players, which is why I think it's the better game. Brawl tries way too hard to be a party game, with stuff like tripping and unbalanced characters. It's not a bad game, but Melee is certainly better gameplay-wise.
