Ideal resolution for playing Wii games?

I've been buying Wii games recently and I wanted to know what the ideal settings are for playing Wii games. I've tried playing Skyward Sword in 1080p and it ended up looking really pixelated.

Is there an ideal resolution or is it just better to use component cables? Thanks in advance.
GameFAQs is like a car crash - you know it's horrible but you just can't turn away.

Probably Component Cables for Wii games (and those VC/WiiShop games) and switch to HDMI when playing Wii U games.

I have an old plasma tv with 854*480 resolution. I think it's the perfect match for wii.

If you can track down an old EDTV, those display 480p natively for the games that support it but 480i games still look poor. Its best just to use a CRT. Everything Wii will look good on that down to the VC.
If I support the game company, then I won't be supporting the blank DVD business.
