After all this dev time, Pikmin 3 takes 7 hours to beat

7 hours for a rush through.
15 hours for all the fruit
20 hours for a full 100 % story
About 25-35 hours for Mission Mode and Bingo Battle too. (where most of the real challenge lies)

Not including replayability. That sounds good enough for me. What's all the complaining about?

Because gamers today have to measure the length of their games to feel secure about their worth.

Because there wasnt games like starfox 64......which wasn't half the duration and higher the price ..... yeah

I am no kid, I'm 32 and I think a 10 hour game is perfect.

Pikmin is no rpg, why would you want a 30 plus hour game?

10-12 is perfect

I am not going to pay 60 dollars for a game I'll beat in a day.

might as well watch a movie

Once again, isn't this the same length as the other Pikmin games?

My wife has played 1-2 several times, I think her average times are 14hrs for Pikmin...

How has nobody called him out on this yet?

The length of a day in Pikmin 1 is supposed to be just under 13 minutes, but I'll be generous and make it 15 minutes per day to make the math easier. Even if she played all 30 days, that comes out to 7.5 hours. That is the MAXIMUM length of the campaign in Pikmin 1. It is literally impossible that her average time for Pikmin 1 is 14 hours.

I was going to. Now we await some lies about Pikmin 1 being the hardest game ever made and all players needing to redo every day to beat it even after several playthroughs.

Guess what other recent game is short? Metal Gear Rising. And....it was one of the funnest games I've played in the past 5 years. It's also filled with content. I don't know if Pikmin 3 is filled with content, but a short game really doesn't automatically make me not buy a game. I'm not buying Pikmin 3 for other reasons. Mainly because it doesn't interest me.

Then don't play it all in one day? You can pace yourself...

I'm sick of people even mentioning length. Games are supposed to be a fun activity, not an intentional time sink.

It's attitudes like that that are convincing developers to add pointless filler into their games.

7 hours for a bare minimum campaign is plenty. Some of us don't have tons of free time, I like when games are nice and snappy.

I buy Games that don't finish in a day if that's what you mean.
