Two words... MARIO 2

Not to mention the fact that many Japanese games have their difficulty reduced for the Western versions (Such as MegaMan 2)...

Miyamoto has shown why he retired from his position as President of Nintendo... He's grown senile!

Weastern people are definitely more likely to quit a game because it's too hard than Japanese people... Miyamoto is saying ****, sorry dude.

Miyamoto was never the President of Nintendo. Not sure if trolling.

Iwata became President of Nintendo Co Ltd. in 2002. Before him it was Hiroshi Yamauchi, who had been President since around the late 1940s.

Miyamoto is the head of EAD. Reggie is the head of the American HQ.

Western games are difficult. Difficult to get into, that is.

Too many gun games.

Dude, Mario 2 came out 25+ years ago. Completely irrelevant to the current climate.
Still waiting for Diddy Kong Racing 2

To be fair, NES/SNES games had the difficulty increased when they came to the West. 7th Saga anyone?
Why do you play games you don't enjoy? Are you a masochist?

I suspect it's a matter of selective perception rather than either side really being less receptive of difficult games.

Apparently FPS games are not well received in Japan because they're too hard--the exact same reaction westerners have toward shmups.
