The price of Vegas Stakes is way too high. Nintendo is ripping off their fans.

It's been almost 24 hours and I'm still seeing the same users discuss the same ten dollar game. This is amazing. Never in my life have I seen a consumer talk about a price point for this long instead of simply buying the product or choosing not to do so.

But enough about Earthbound. This game is the real culprit. $7.99 for Vegas Stakes? You've got to be kidding me. How the hell is this game worth 8 bucks? There are plenty of SNES games that would easily be worth 8 dollars, such as Final fantasy VI, chrono trigger (if you don't have the DS game), super metroid, nba jam, etc.

But this game? No way.

those two abominations wouldn't be worth it if they paid YOU $8 to take them

VC pricing should have been cheaper from the start. It's not just Earthbound.

You could have picked any VC game and this joke topic would be accidentally accurate.

Vegas Stakes is bad, but at least it's consistent with VC pricing for SNES games up until this point.

Everyone likes to get a good deal, and the hike up for Earthbound gives the impression Nintendo is simply doing this because they know there's some semblance of demand, so they want to try to take advantage of that by charging more.

There's simply no other reason.

Vegas Stakes is probably the best casino-type game ever made. Granted, that's not up against a ton, but it's still a solid game.

However, yes, obviously not every game is worth the same amount. But Nintendo sets the pricing, I'm not sure third-parties would like it if Nintendo said "sorry, your game is only worth $3, trust us".

The problem with the VC is that the base price point doesn't make sense. Games that aren't high profile, light on content, and low in demand still sell for either $7.99 or $4.99. I can buy Kirby's Adventure for the same price as Yoshi. One of them is a full game. The other is a gamefreak game that was ignored on the NES and was something they did on the side before Pokemon was released.

I don't think Earthbound is too much. It's a rare classic that many people haven't had the opportunity to play. It's value is higher.

Vegas Stakes? I loved that game forever ago, but the world has surpassed it. It should be 50 cents and at most a buck.
