what HASNT Nintendo done as far as an IP

Most Japanese RPGs are pretty linear. Demon Souls and Dark Souls only have around two endings each. And the gameplay style is borrowed from Monster Hunter or other Japanese 3rd person hack and slash.

Like I said.

They haven't made a TRADITIONAL fighting game or RTS. Nor a sim racer.

You can say sim racers/kart racers are both racers, so who cares. But they're really different games, with very different appeals. No games Nintendo has made would appeal to people who like more traditional or conventional fans of those genres. Similarly, If I want an fps game, MP3 is really not what I'm looking for.

They've done games sort of similar to fighting games, sim racers, stealth, fps, fighters. But they've always had other elements. RTS isn't the sole focus of Pikmin. SSB is as much a platformer as a fighting game. You know what I mean? Nintendo's games feel more like hybrids with elements of those genres, but it's not the focus.

A psychological thriller game

Would Eternal Darkness count?

I was thinking of a game where you would be a hard boiled detective and have to solve an intense mystery before the killer strikes again.

Never mind. I just looked it up and that sounds similar to my idea.

Still a branch from Rock. Just as someone who likes First Person Shooters may not like Third Person Shooters but they still branch from the genre "Shooter".

In the same way that Duck Hunt, Star Fox, and Call of Duty are all shooters, but that doesn't mean they're equivalent to eachother. You're talking about very broad genre types, of which there's only about half a dozen or so, this thread is talking about much more defined genres.

An you can do that, but don't discount the broad genre just because of the sub genre. Do not state "This is not Rock because it is Metal," Say "This is Metal, so it's not Hard Rock."

In that case, the closest game I can think of is Hotel Dusk.

But pretty much everyone has been specifically questioning sub-genres, not the handful of broad genres under which the other genres fall. There's a pretty definite difference between the games listed here so far. Plus, it wouldn't really make sense to lump MMORPGs, WRPGs, and JRPGs all together when asking what kind of games they've made.

That was made by Cing, who went bankrupt a number of years ago. I'm not even sure Nintendo owns the rights to it, although they published it.

If you mean what Nintendo first and 2nd parties have done then there's still quite a bit. If you mean everything, including what Nintendo has obtained the rights to and turned into their own intellectual property, the list is pretty small:

Tactical FPS
Stealth Action
Racing simulator (though there's rumors: http://wiiublog.com/nintendo-working-on-a-simulation-racing-game-for-the-wii-u/)

I do want to note a couple things here.

First is, at one time, Rareware was part of Nintendo and they did at one time make a completely exclusive series that was technically given to them by Nintendo when they left Nintendo called Killer Instinct. While it is now "Microsoft's series" it was originally a Nintendo IP so at one time they did have a traditional, non Smash Bros, fighting game. Not anymore though now of course.

For survival horror there's Eternal Darkness which despite it not being developed by Nintendo or one of there subsidiaries, it's still a Nintendo owned IP. Nintendo also owns the Fatal Frame IP and had a spin off on 3DS called Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir that they co-developed.

As far as RTS goes, excluding Battalion Wars and Pikmin which are both RTS's, Nintendo came out with a game called Takt of Magic which unfortunately never made its way out of Japan.

Not to mention Odama which is a pinball strategy game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2yvg-cwtzk

Cinematic Action Adventure came in the way of Disaster: Day of Crisis made by Monolith Soft, a first party Nintendo developer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3ZTu19M24I
Metroid Other M is also pretty cinematic and is more of an Action Adventure then a Metroidvania.

As for adventure games Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Another Code: Two Memories were developed by Cing who is a former 2nd party Nintendo developer that went bankrupt. They also made Another Code R and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West both of which never made their way to NA.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2SLmDaVdf4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBdiVdU-YPM
Arika, a 2nd party developer for Nintendo made the Endless Ocean games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPhEt7So9IA
Project Hacker which never released out of Japan is point and click adventure game and a Nintendo owned IP.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EI3o3xCT9U
There was also Giftpia which was developed by Skip Ltd. who's a 2nd party Nintendo developer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldHtpgKnUqs

Another interesting one is believe it or not Lego City Undercover, despite it not being developed by Nintendo, is in fact, a Nintendo IP though the Lego games belonging to Warner Bros.

Another one to consider is both Xenoblade and X, while not being western you do the roll playing style like Elder Scrolls, they both have huge sprawling worlds and for Xenoblade, much of the systems and gameplay in the game is borrowed from Western RPG's and MMO's.
