Am I the only one here who likes Other M and is waiting for a sequel?

Other than the fact that the game has no replay value, I really liked it. Sure it's different, but games do need a change sometime. I don't see the whole big deal on why it's been giving a lot of criticism, I can understand the Samus's personality can sometimes remind me of Tidus in FFX, but there's no absolute reason the story deserves a big bashing. It actually gives us a great backstory of Samus's origins even though it takes place after Super Metroid.

I have strong suspicions that this is a troll topic, but if it isn't: Yes you are the only one.

Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time.

Other M is my most hated game of all time.

*sigh* Well, I'll just add my quick two cents since this will blow up anyway...

To summarize, the problems with the story is the lack of consistency with other games (even ignoring the Prime series, the game contradicts and/or changes elements from previous games to fit its own story) especially Fusion which doesn't make a lot of sense following it, the lack of consistency between the actions of the character before and in Other M (remember, actions define the character, not words) and the handling of Adam, the Deleter and Ridley in general (Adam in particular is egregious as he makes dumb mistakes like having his team split up after they were nearly killed by a monster, never addresses the Deleter issue despite his team dying one by one, shoots Samus in the back for really no adequately explained reason and yet gets praised to high heaven by her).

The game's story is one that really needed to go through the ironing process since there are a lot of elements that could've worked in theory but just didn't due to being poorly handled. Personally I'd love a game that explored Samus' elements but the way it played out here wasn't done very well. If the next game addresses these issues however, then I'd say go for it.
