Best 2D Metroid?

Super Metroid. It was the most fun I ever had with a 2D Metroid :)

Super, easily. Zero Mission's a solid second.

If I tried to muster any objectivity, I'd pick Zero Mission. Fusion is my personal favourite though.

The only one I've played is zero mission and it was really fun.

Yeah, objectively Zero MIssion is probably the best of the three games. But Fusion is what I enjoyed the most. It's also the first one I played though, so maybe that's the reason I like it best. I missed Super Metroid on SNES, played it after Fusion and before ZM

Ranking them

1. Fusion
2. Zero Mission
3. Super
4. Metroid 2
5. Metroid

They're all really good

A better question: Y CANT METROID CRAWL?!?!?

That joke ran its course. Not really funny anymore.

Anyway, Super Metroid is the best without question. Zero Mission is easily number two, followed closely by Fusion.

same with calling Samus, Metroid, or thinking that Samus is a man, but people still do it

I hope we all came here with Fusion and Super in mind.

I sure did, but Fusion has the upper-hand in my book. I miss my SNES, though.

I picked Fusion, but I recognize that Super is much more of a landmark title. Two brilliant games that accomplish very different things.
