Wii failure rate: 6%
PS3 failure rate: 10%
360 failure rate: 54%

One of these things is not like the other. I think the Japanese may distrust Western manufacturing and design, and after the red ring of death... it's hard to fault them for it.

Also, the fact that most major developers are based in Japan matters a lot. Microsoft didn't bother cozying up to Japanese developers much when launching the Xbox. Western developers (read: first person shooters) have managed to build up most of the Xbox brand's appeal, and Japanese gamers don't care much for the style games they make.

I think it's a cultural difference. Japanese just trust Japanese products more. Can't say I blame them. Japanese electronics have been the best since 80s.

The exclusive game selection. Ps3 has a lot more games that appeal to the Japanese audience. Xbox tried to throw money at a couple of RPGS but it wasn't even close to enough of a push to appeal to the Japanese audience.

Sorry, but the american console(s) are terrible...we shouldn't even be buying it, but America is full of idiots who settle for mediocrity so what can you expect?

The Wii beats it's wife, the 360 has self-confidence issues, and is afraid it's always going to fail, and the PS3 is a recovering drug addict.

None of those things are at ALL like each other.
You said one of those things isn't like the others, you lied to me, you bastard!

Japanese electronics haven't been the best for quite a while. Their top brands have been going downhill for more than a decade now, while western brands have been getting really good. Also, Japanese people have always bought western products, they just have to get marketed properly. Microsoft has always sucked at marketing the Xbox line in Japan.

Is this a joke? The Xbox 360 does so poorly in Japan that Microsoft wants nothing to do with the market.

Because we dropped two measly bombs on them and they're still butthurt about it.
