If square-enix went bankrupt, which IPs would you want nintendo to buy?

They shouldn't buy any. It would be better for gamers if all games were left to superior Sony and Microsoft consoles. Gamers shouldn't be forced to buy weak consoles just to play a handful of games.

Gamers are an acceptable casualty in the name of making Nintendo money. I support anything that screws over gamers. Gamers deserve it for not staying with Nintendo in the first place.

I'm not a gamer, I'm a Nintendrone. Here's proof I live to serve Nintendo:

Implying that Nintendo could even afford half of these IPs.

KH3 is not coming to Wii U so stahp.

Actually it's still possible. Now there's talk about bringing it to all next generation consoles (this includes Wii U).

Notice the second paragraph from the bottom.

Except the article is nothing but speculation. Give me a source from a more authentic site.

Dude... it's still 6 years from entering development (knowing Square. Y'know, the guys who take so long to make a game that it makes Duke Nukem seem like yearly release), ANYTHING could happen between now and then, and the game being on the Wii U is just as likely as it not being on the Wii U, which is to say, it's 50/50.

If so, then it will come down to sales. If the U base grows enough to next year, then there may be a slim chance.

I'm prepared to get a PS4 if need be, but it would be interesting to keep an eye on things.

To be fair, the overall plot of the MGS series sounds like it was written by a 7 year old on amphetamines.-CrystalKing5426

Why are people so against FF? I mean if this is just where Nintendo buys the IPs and nothing else than it would be completely different teams working on the games (unless they decided to go to nintendo too)

But otherwise, Definitely Dragon Quest, Xeno games, TWEWY, Chrono Trigger, and FF

Xeno games? SE only owns Xenogears.

A few people in this topic seem to think Square owns "all Xeno rights." They had nothing to do with Xenosaga, that was Namco.

Xenosaga is partly owned by Monolith Soft too.

If they could only pick one, it would depend on the motivation.

For money, choose Dragon Quest. It's more in line with Nintendo's style and it's a huge IP in Japan and reasonably-sized outside Japan.

For the closest to Nintendo's style and spirit, Mana. While Mana isn't quite a "what if Nintendo made an RPG series" (doesn't feel exactly like that), it seems to be close. Besides, it's a dead franchise and looks like it can use a new perspective from someone who can capture that SoM/SD3/Sword of Mana feel. Of course, Square never really knew what they wanted from the Mana franchise. It kept changing things up, visually and gameplay, even more so than the FF series (in many ways, SoM & SD3 are complete opposites in how they play and how one interacts with the map. Space is big in SoM whereas most battles in SD3 are fought on single-screens or in the corners of screens in ambushes). That's why the franchise just drifted into obscurity after the SNES.

Definitely Dragon Quest, and of course, a stipulation about Final Fantasy that if it goes to a Sony console, an iteration comes to a Nintendo console as well. Say if a main Final Fantasy comes to PS4, a Crystal Chronicles game comes to Wii U or 3DS. That would work perfectly. Oh, and don't forget Bravely Default.

This is EXACTLY my thoughts.

If Nintendo managed to get rights to both FF11 and FF14, wonder what would happen to the console version of those games.
