The rise and fall of nintendo

From saving the industry from a crash to becoming a laughing stock, only goes some way to telling the story of the fallen kyoto giant. You see Nintendo had always made the best games, they innovated, most importantly they cared. Their refusal to go cd based had little impact on the company. The fact is no one made games like Nintendo.

But there was a power shift, and like all great empires, they eventually fall. The wii was a beast, which Nintendo themselves could not handle. But with this new found fame came arrogance. In winning a generation, they lost one at the same time. They adopted the casuals but lost the hard core. This was acceptable, there were still games for dedicated gamers. Galaxy, twilight princess, etc.

But everything was about to change. Wii u launched with no games to win the core gamers. The casuals could not care less as there was no difference to the previous console. Their arrogance won't let them accept the fact that the game pad is the problem. Nintendo games are usually built around the pad, but we still have no proper example of it being used effectively.

The sad thing is, they could of released the wii 2 and had this generation won. But they got caught up in their own hype and treated their fans with disrespect. They are better than this. In a way this could be the making of Nintendo. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, before you can get back up again.

Nintendo rose up, and then fell in their pile of money that continues to accumulate.

This is like reading a poorly written history book of an alternate future reality.

No. Nothing with "Wii" in the name should have been released. That was their problem. Not distancing themselves from the Wii which had lost 100% of its appeal by 2010. They should have made the Nintendo Ultra or something else as a call back to their previous glory. They falsely believed that their sales with the Wii made it a glorious thing. In reality those sales meant nothing because the casuals do not have loyalty to a system or brand. They got it because of the motion control fad.
