Why isn't nintendo just paying for it, seriously like if there weren't that many games and developers for the system.

This would totally make the WiiU a must own if exclusive.

Its a downloadable title. As good as it may be, it would only convince a few people to buy a wii u.

Also, it screams "Ripoff", which isnt Inafunes fault, but capcom could sue if it is too similar.

If nintendo pays for it, this will probably change for digital to an all out game, im sure.

Just one day, and it's already gotten more funding than either of the two Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaigns, which is moderately impressive.

There are two obvious answers to that.

The first is that they might not be looking for financial backing from a major company. They might just want to see if people are interested in the game, enough to pay for it themselves, and to develop it if they are. They could also want to game to come to as many platforms as possible rather than being exclusive to just one.

The second is that Nintendo might not want to fund the game. About a million in funding and maybe half that amount in promotions, at a guesswork price of US$10 per sale, would leave Nintendo having to sell 150,000 copies of the game on Wii U. They may have figured that that was unlikely.

It might, for a very tiny fraction of people, but most people just don't care. The actual effect on system sales would be negligible.

Precedents such as Capcom vs Data East strongly suggest that they would lose any such legal action.

$443,044 pledged of $900,000 goal with 30 days left. Seems like this game is going to reach it's goal and i'm happy.

But, will it reach the 2.5 million needed to have the game come to consoles.

The courts agreed that it was a ripoff, but because it wasn't making much money, they let it slide. Mighty No. 9 could make a lot of money, because of who is behind the game.
