Do you regard a game as "finished" if you didn't want to play it anymore?

I vote yes, simply because it's a waste of my time to try to mark a game off as completed if I'm not having fun doing it. I was borderline depends; for example, Twilight Princess I'm feeling too bored to make it to the end, but it's doable, and it wouldn't be too bad of a time, whereas Steel Diver is just awful.

Depends.

If it's a bad game, then yes, I finished it. If I just lost interest in it, then no, the game isn't finished.

It's like

Their job is to make me want to finish their game, and my job ain't to play games that ain't fun

One thing I don't get is people who vote no :v like, you really feel like there's anything more to do in a game that is just the worst?

Arbitrary things like "beating the game" don't fit in games that have no ending point (or are multiplayer games), and 100%ing a game usually involves doing a lot of bland tasks that aren't necessarily engaging or fun. When I've had enough, I've had enough. For example, Corridor Fantasy XIII was needlessly bland and boring, and when I had had enough, it was certainly "finished."

You do not realize how huge my backlog of games is.

That being said, I voted no, but I really say 'depends', if it's a really REALLY bad game. Anything shovelware, or an experimental indie.

Generally I'm a casual that doesn't care if I finish anything. I don't play enough time in the day to keep up with everything that comes out, so sometimes I just drop a game to get started on the next even though I was enjoying it. Then if there's a period of time with no releases I want, I will go back and beat some. I'm much more likely to finish a game if Nintendo made it compared to a third party game though, partly because they make up most of my favorites, and partly because of the fanboy factor of "Nintendo presented me this, and I won't even finish it?" And handheld games are also ones I finish more often, since I can take the system anywhere and get more time in whereas at home I'd be distracted by my computer.

Though there was one time I decided to beat a hard game, Superman 64. I wouldn't play anything else till I beat it, and two weeks later I came out on top. What a satisfying victory it was, flying into a wall that said "THE END", seeing the ending with the camera randomly zooming in and out, and seeing the incredibly short credits sequence. Then I was presented a new game plus, where the camera glitch continued into the gameplay. So epic.

I'm not a gamer, I'm a Nintendrone. Here's proof I live to serve Nintendo:

No as its not "finished" the dictionary defines finished as "ended or completed" As you didn't complete it the game is unfinished. If I just drop a game(and by god it has to be pretty bad, boring, or less fun then going to work like Skyrim) I count it as dropped not finished.

So even if you could finish a game, and drop it its not finished as you never completed it
