I am on the verge of picking up a Wii U. One obstacle is that I do not have a TV. I currently use my PC monitor (DVI) for the playstation 3. The current setup is a HDMI to dvi cable from PS3 to the monitor, and then using the red and white parts of the ps3 composite cables from the PS3 to my PC speakers.
I have read that some people have problems applying this setup (in particular, getting audio to work) to the Wii U. Has anybody tried to to do? Thanks in advance.
There are a bunch of workarounds but it is mostly for TVs or people with sound systems.
The sound will play through the gamepad as well most of the time. Especially on games with off screen play - Not that it helps.
I suggest investing in a new monitor, one that supports HDMI and has an audio out on it. Which is pretty much any monitor made in the last 3 years. Especially if you plan on playing anything this next gen.
I suggest looking around cyber monday, could get a really great deal. --- Since this game rely on micro transaction when people leave for mop this game will be I survive. - MageGuyInfinity
The way you worded this title with the exclamation point, I thought you found a way around it or Nintendo gave you an actual answer about it...now I'm sad. --- If you were to ask me what kind of person I was, I'd tell you I listen to dubstep, country, rap and thrash metal. I think that makes me a pretty level person.
