Confused...Virtual Console question

#1gldooriiPosted 9/13/2013 3:38:08 PM
I saw on IGN they posted the trailer for Zelda II coming to the Virtual Console...but, isn't it already out? I haven't followed the Wii U at all, but...they (Wii U/Wii) don't seriously have different Virtual Consoles, right?

You can play your wii virtual console games on the wii u by transfering them from the wii and then going into wii emulation.

Ninty are releasing updated virtual console games on the wii u that support off tv play and miiverse I believe.

It's been upgraded to Wii U VC. Added Gamepad support and custom button layout. If you have it already on Wii VC it only cost $1 for the upgrade.

And yes, the Wii U and Wii DO have separate virtual consoles.

I don't know how many people, and WHY people can't understand this... but games have to be PROGRAMMED to be displayed on the Game Pad. The Game PAd does NOT simply "display what's on your TV". It's actually a separate game. Why do you think Wii games are not displayed on the Game Pad? Because they weren't programmed to be displayed. If the GamePad merely showed "What's on your TV screen", then Off-TV play wouldn't exist, and if someone decided to turn it over to watch some sports game, suddenly you're watching a sports game on the GamePad... except, you don't.

Same thing with VC. The Wii VC games aren't programmed to play on the GamePad screen. Likewise, they weren't programmed to accept input with the Game Pad. Obviously. Therefore, why people seem to assume you can use the Game Pad to play VC games, or Wii games, I'll never understand.
