Why the hell would they release The Wonderful 101 the same week as GTAV?

I'm not saying anything about which game is the better buy, thats subjective. Whats objective, however, is the fact that this game will be swept to the side in the wake of the GTA onslaught.

What the hell were they thinking?

Sometimes, dates just happen to coincide with each, whether or not it was intentional.

I know it may seem crazy but there are actually people out there who don't want GTA. It annoys me to no end when companies avoid going up against something like CoD like the plague; there are in fact several tens of millions of console owners with no interest in it.

Exactly. Sometimes release dates just coincide by freak chance. It's not like The Wonderful 101 could've been released earlier this year, away from all of the other big releases so it could get better attention and potential sales...

...right, Ubisoft?

There's no mistaking it.

It's called counter programming. It's the same reason why almost any time a movie like Transformers or a superhero movie is opening, the only movie going against it is a romcom.

Generally the people who don't want it and say Gta sucks are Nintendo fan boys

GTA IV has sold 25 million copies. There is a combined total of about 150 million for 360 and PS3. Even taking into account people who own both of them, that's a lot of people who don't care about GTA.

I don't think their target audiences overlap much.

I am what some consider (in my group of friends anyways) a Nintendo fanboy... I can not wait for GTA or W101 and will be getting them both!

I don't know if I need to turn in my Nintendo Fanboy card or not because I just said that.
