So, what's the solution for the fairly short battery time on the tablet?

Already after playing some lengthy sessions of Earthbound while I had NFL games on the tv I've noticed the battery drains pretty quickly (I guess not so bad for a tablet, but extremely terrible for a controller). I also noticed when I tried to plug it into the plug that came with my pro controller that it was a difference size (WHAT?!? am I missing something or just stupid? please tell me I'm just stupid and thought it was a different size).

So question is, am I supposed to unplug the back of the tablet cradle during extended play sessions? It's actually a little problematic for me because since I have young kids I have the cradle on the TV stand behind the TV...good for setting it on/taking it off, terrible if I need to unplug the back.

Concerning me even more is when WW comes out, as it looks like I may need to rearrange things or figure something else out. Can I buy a USB cord to hook it into the front, I mean will that even work and can it charge off that? If so does anybody have a link to a cord?

Yeah, you can get USB chargers for it. I just bought a shady-sounding generic one off Ebay. :P

I've got an extension cord that runs under our couch for easy access for laptop chargers and the like, and for days that I've had that demand longer playing sessions than 2-3 hours I've simply plugged it in using a USB charger and one of those phone AC to USB adapters.

I'd get another cord for the pad if I felt like it, but I had these around the house for the converter and the USB charger was like...$1.

I sit right next to an outlet so there isn't really an issue.

You know, my solution may end up being just putting my cord/cradle where I have my 3DS charger which is behind the end tablet beside our couch.

But good to know I have other options, still very new to the Wii U so really didn't know if people just dealt with it or plugged their cords in close to the couch or what.

Also, one thing I forgot to mention.

If you turn down the brightness slightly or turn the pad onto "Power Saving" options, it tends to last a lot longer too. I personally put mine on Brightness 3 and Power Saving, I can usually get an entire evening out of that.

Huh I'll have to mess around with it. I know on my 3DS I usually don't have power save on because it kind of hurts my eyes, but I always keep the brightness down a bit.

Main thing is I just want to keep it on while I'm watching football and with a game like WW it'll be nice to just have it one most of the day.

I bought a Wii U Gamepad USB cord from Best Buy so I can charge it when it's not on the cradle

Didn't know they sold accessories...maybe I'll look into this, since it doesn't seem to be coming to America.

Or you have the Nyko Power Pak. The last version works well, I have one and I can get 8-9 hours gameplay from it (basically I only need to charge it during the night).
