What game series did you hate at first but loved over time? (Read OP)

Just so you know. This doesn't necessarily has to be about just Nintendo game series. It can be about Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft/any 3rd party game series. Also if you can't think of any franchise, feel free to talk about the same experience with one game or more

none i guess. i've always stood by my initial opinion outside of the MH series, which went from bad to neutral.

Here's hoping that Chrom will do Aether correctly in SSB4...

Pikmin. Always had the first two games but couldn't really get into them. In the first half of this year I gave them another spin and I loved them, I then bought Pikmin 3 day one and loved it too.

Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.

Halo definitely comes to mind. The first one I liked was 3. I hated 2, mostly because I felt the camera speed was horrid. This also could of been a result of my friends settings as I didn't own the game or the original Xbox for that matter.

Another one was World of Warcraft. There were so many WoW trolls on SWG and FFXI that it really turned me off to the game. My opinion about it changed though when I made a druid on it, which the rest is history.

Not a series, but an entire genre.

I used to HATE jrpgs. I thought they were boring and lame, with lazy animations.

Then I played Chrono Trigger which completely turned that around, (I was really impressed with how the characters would actually go up to enemies and attack them, as opposed to swinging a sword and a number popping up on the other end of the screen.) and jrpgs are pretty much my favorite genre these days.

It probably takes rocks an GA GONGs people with them!

Let's see....

Dynasty Warriors
Armored Core
MMOs in general

I hated them all at first and while I certainly wouldn't say I love any of them now, I have at least come to enjoy them. For the most part my first impressions stick. Although that may be simply because I rarely give games or franchises a second chance.

RPGs in general for me. Starting to finally get into them.

Metal Gear. I hated MGS because I sucked. Once I got around to trying it again, I was blown away.

I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information.
