Question about the Wii U Pro Controller.

Will it work with Wii VC games, so games like the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and all that?

Will it also work with Wii games where the Classic Controller is available, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl?

Nope, only Wii U games.

It wont function in Wii mode since its not a Wii product. The new controllers are not backwards compatible with old software

I heard there were some third party Wii U Pro Controllers that would work with Wii software. Is that true?

It will work with Wii U VC. but not with normal Wii VC.

You know the gaming industry is **** when the biggest announcement is that a console can play used games and won't totally screw you over.

Let me clear this right here.

He is speaking of the Interworks Pro Controller U.

It is NOT a Wii U Pro Controller. I own one. Read up:

http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Controller-Wii-Nintendo-U-6304900/dp/B009O3WU5W/ref=pd_sim_vg_4

Pros
+Comfortable
+Rechargeable Battery
+GREAT Rumble
+Acts as Wii Classic Controller OR standard Wiimote (controllable via switches on back)
+Can be used on all software that allows Classic Controller or Wiimote alone
+Built in motion sensor and IR Pointer

Cons
-NOT A WII U PRO CONTROLLER
-Kinda short battery life
-Can be used as an Android controller, but only in Wiimote mode, thus limiting the available buttons

It's a great CC, but that's it really. I like it a lot, but I don't own a Wii U yet. I use it for my Wii.

The fact that it's not a Wii U Pro Controller, as nice as it looks, is what worries me. I'm sort of looking for a good Pro Controller that works with both Wii games and Wii U games, so I wonder if such a thing does exist, if by third party.
