So apparently nobody cares about Metroid anymore?

I guess this shows what catering to nostalgia can do to a franchise.

Metroid has always been niche.

MP Trilogy is still in my backlog, and I'll probably tackle it now that vWii off-TV is convenient for my apartment.

Does that count?

I still do! The best modern Metroid games yet are the Prime series and way better than Other M! Honestly though i didn't hate that one. It's just retro studios did a better job overall. The music, the gameplay, the environments! Everything was top notch!

Yeah, nobody cares about Metroid anymore.

Which is why there are topics on here with people asking for more Metroid games.

People do, just not enough to warrant making a new entry. Same with F-Zero and Star Fox.

That said, Metroid's the most likely to see a new entry.
To be fair, the overall plot of the MGS series sounds like it was written by a 7 year old on amphetamines.-CrystalKing5426

Metroid's a niche franchise, it never really sold that well.

That said, I still would love another proper Metroid game.

It's only been 3 years since the last Metroid.

We don't need 1 game per year to stop worrying about the health of a franchise...

The next Metroid game really should be on the 3DS. We haven't had a main series entry on a handheld since GBA. It's been far too long. Metroid 5 anyone? I'm sure the Wii U will get at least one before it's life cycle ends. Miyamoto even recently said in an interview that the series is still very important to Nintendo and they are thinking about the next game.

Here's an article about it.

The update fixed Metroid so she can crawl now.
