Nintendo has exceeded expectations and was able to develop WW:HD in 6 months

Aonuma: It took about 6 months. Development was still difficult. You had to consider the difference in hardware at the time. Additionally there is a technique known as toon shading, which gives the game a very animated look. At that time, the technique was established, but had not be used before by our staff, everyone had to do everything by hand.

Wasn't it announced in January? + 6 months would mean it was finished in July. Three months to get it shipped?

Yeah 3 months is pretty long, but for a major publisher, thats not unusual.

Its nearly impossible to plan millions of units being produced and shipped without lead time so some games simply get held back a couple months due to production/logistical/timing reasons.

Pretty much. I think the screens in January indicated that they were just testing out some things and that active development didn't start until a bit later.

Hmmm...full price? Pretty sure it cost me less than a normal game costs on last gen systems now.

I'm starting to think the next batch of Nintendo games is going to be very interesting. I sincerely hope they avoid Day 1 patches and crap like that.
