WATCH OUT! HE'S GOT GETTING AWAY FROM THE COPS SPEED!
Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, RPG/Paper Mario, Metroid, Star Fox, W101, Bayonetta 2, SSB, MK, etc.
Why else but GAMES.
I'm not familiar with the type of thing I'm seeing
I wanted to buy a Wii, then I saw the advertising for WiiU and learned that it played Wii games. Got it
I like platformers so having access to almost all Mario games was a plus.
Nostalgia I think. I also liked the dual screen feature.

I like the idea of off tv play, and also for some titles including Zelda,X,Wonderful101 etc.
Off TV play sounded awesome(and is) plus y'know, Nintendo games.
I bought the wii and wiiU for the same reasons i used to like games when i was a kid, back in early 90s. Nintendo still sticks to their guns from back in the day and their consoles are bankers.
You can always trust on great mario, zelda, mariokart etc etc etc games to come out. You can alwways trust ninty to really put in the money and effort to bring out great polished games that you can enjoy, not online with teenagers, but with your friends and girlfriend and such...
When I go home for xmas, and take it with, and being able to play games with the rest of my family who haven't picked it up and aren't 'gamers'... that's priceless.
Like.. i bought my mom Boulderdash and Bubble Bobble a while back. golden..
Exclusives, 1st and 3rd party alike over the course of its life were why I bought it, backwards compatibility is why I bought it at launch.
I was very satisfied with GameCube and Wii, so I had no doubt that Wii U would be a must-have eventually. I bought my Wii U at launch despite knowing that launch consoles rarely have enough to warrant the purchase because I wanted my Wii games playable in another room without moving consoles around.
Surrender and I will destroy you peacefully.

Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner.
Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.
ChipChipperson posted...Because I got bored with MS and Sony and needed a change. The gamepad and price made it an easy choice.
I do that all the time lol. I lay on the couch and browse while I have Mystery Science Theater or something up on the tv. This may be the most used piece of electronics that I've ever owned.
We got no food, no jobs... our PETS' HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!
Bought mine to play, Monster Hunter 3U, the Zelda's, Mario's, smash, Kart, and some of the third party like BO2.
Also cause my Wii is getting old since I had it since release year and its starting to show its age.
