For me, it's always been Nintendo +another system (when possible). First it was Sega and Nintendo. Then it was Sony and Nintendo. Remains that way now, so yes, sure, irregardless of the Wii U's success I'll also have a 3DS and various Sony things.

I already own about 300 games for Sony systems.

However, Sony will never replace Nintendo for me. While they have a lot of really solid games, they simply don't have any franchises that hold as much power over me as Smash Bros or Pokemon.

Also, if I stuck by Nintendo during N64 and GC, obviously I can do it now.

........
I will buy Nintendo products as long as the products are produced and as long as I like them
I will buy a Playstation 4 as soon as enough games are out that I like
I will buy a XBox as soon as Microsoft makes me belive that their goal isn't absolute market-control.
I will buy a Pony as soon as I have any interest in purchasing a pony
......

Well said.

To be fair, the overall plot of the MGS series sounds like it was written by a 7 year old on amphetamines.-CrystalKing5426

Being a fan of both Nintendo and Sony systems is really fun, because you get the best of both sides of gaming.

It's like Nintendo doesn't want you to play it.

That's the impression I've been getting as well. I want to help Nintendo out, but it's like they don't want to help themselves first. Very sad situation.

"Sony Pony" is grasping for straws. It does have the flow of or make as much thematic sense as "Xbot" or "Nintendrone". Honestly even "Playstoner" is more clever than that pony trash.

If someone can make up an actually good insult for irrational Sony fanboys I'll jump on it.

Anyway, even if the Wii U fails it'll still have the previously released exclusive games on it, warranting keeping it or buying. And maybe Nintendo will wisen up and make a good console next gen than can actually attract third-party developers. There's no reason you'd have to absolutely turn to Sony.
