Anything that has the "happy endings" or lighthearted nature. I'd say Kingdom Hearts is a good series to help you feel a bit better, while getting you into a zone to defeat the big bads.

Hell, a Mario game would be great. Ohhh, Pokemon would also be definitely good.

Depends on what kinds of games you like and what kind of depression you have.

But in general: simply games where you can completely delve into, games that even after you stopped playing make you think about the game and not about your (most likely crappy) life,

For me that would be JRPGs, so, if your PS3 is backward compatible I would recommend FF VII-X, Persona 3/4, ect. Fire Emblem is also a great series to get your head into different thoughts.

In the end your goal should be shifting your thoughts towards some aspect of theses games that keep you thinking, story development? characters? artistic style? gameplay? changes in the franchise? all those factors interacting with each other? everything is possible....

Also, I recommend Okami, for every person, in every situation, I will always recommend Okami.....seriously......Okami, buy it, NOW....

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F (PS3)

Tales Of Graces F (PS3)

Rune Factory 4 (3DS)

Any Disgaea (PS3, Vita)

All are very cheery and cutesy. They worked for me anyway. :p

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice - but in practice, there is.
