Only the Top Ten Selling games on the Wii U have made their money back.

This is pretty bad
1. Nintendo Land
2. New Super Mario Bros. U
3. ZombiU
4. Lego City Undercover
5. Pikmin 3
6. Monster Hunter Tri
7. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 2013
8. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed
9. New Super Luigi U
10. Just Dance 4
11. Call of Duty: Black Ops II

If Black ops sold .2 million units, then considering 20% of the game goes straight back to the developers(at full price) they've only made 2.4 million dollars which isn't a whole lot in today's gaming when you have a team of like 20-30 people

And the list from the bottom isn't just Dynasty Warriors and out of place sequels
Dragon Warrior X, Wonderful 101 and a few other games like Need for Speed and Rayman Legends.

Technically with ports a small group of people could do it but everything outside of the top ten pretty much looks like a loss.

So basically you posted the top ten Wii U sellers then made up a story.

Warriors Orochi 3 did half a million units in Japan on the ps3 and only a tenth on the Wii U, the system that it was supposed to be spearheading from what I remember

I figure some people have jobs here

40% goes to the store
20% to distribution
20% to developers
20% to publishers/managers

it could take maybe 10-20 people to port a game

Orcarina of Time cost what 10million to make
Games like Call of Duty on other system are literally costing like 40 million dollars to make after everything is said and done

It's still bad for industry though

the industry is in bad shape

look at your wii library and see how many times Games have changed publishers for a sequel or how developers are working with different studios now.

It's almost like it's not a big deal anymore, development and publisher changes for franchises happen with every sequel.

Atari is gone!
Activision can't make anything besides billions of dollars on call of duty games
Star wars isn't coming back to Nintendo anytime soon
Megaman is a cyborg Buddhist now
Resident Evil went octopi on us
and F-zero just gave it's rights to mario and friends

How is any of this a good thing for us?

Who cares? There are just as many games not making huge profit returns on the other platforms.

So, you have no exact figures or references?

I'm pretty sure we all do understand that a chunk of money goes out to each and every part of the distribution chain --- but how much money was specifically put in to the Wii U version for each? You can't just apply the same percentages to every game.
