I'm cool with it.

As long as the game is like

OoT, MM or TP but no gimmicks or motion control garbage.

If there was a good reason then I'd be fine with it. I think the closest to dark skin characters in Zelda is the Gerudo tribe though.

Is there a good reason for him to be blond?

Oh, right.. My bad. I forgot nothing can change ever. In fact, Link's appearance has never changed, EVER, right?

Oh, wait... That's not right. He was a darker skinned brunette in the beginning.. Shhhh. Nobody needs to know, right?

No! That's what we have Gorons (blacks) and Zoras (latinos) for. Also Gerudos (arabs), Shiekahs (asians), and Hylians (white). Kokiri (small people), and Ghirahim,Tingle, The dancing guy at Malo's Mart, Falbi (The Fabulous Ones). And the eskimos and aztec like tribes people of Phantom Hourglass...Remember art imitates real life.

Link is the way he is in order to appeal to Western audiences.

Basically a blond haired white link, will appeal to Western audiences AND Japan (how many Asians die their hair blond?, talk about insecurity).

This is because this is accepted by the world as the "default" hero look.

Racist? Prejudiced? Maybe but it's also the reality.
