right now club nintendo had "super mario kart" for the wii system for 150 coins. but i dont have a wii system. can i redeem the game but use the code on a wii u system?

have anyone tried?

If you have a Wii U you have a Wii. You'll redeem it through the Wii mode's Wii store.

Definitely. I think you have to go into the Wii mode, access the Wii Shop Channel, and input the code there.

darn* i just bought the wind waker bundle (wii remote not included), i notice if i go to wii mode they ask me for a wii remote and a sensor bar which the sensor is still in the box. i was hoping if i could play with a gamepad instead.

ATM, the Gamepad can only output the video/audio, while button presses on the Gamepad will bring up a message saying Gamepad controls aren't supported. I wouldn't rule out Gamepad controls in a later patch but right now, we have what we have. It was previously thought that Gamepad streaming of Wii games was not possible, but we see Nintendo proving that wrong. This was probably the first step.
