Why do people think that if nintendo bought capcom, they'd mess up RE and SF?

Why do people think Nintendo would buy Capcom?

Well, I think it's because they have a long history with each other and enjoy working together. Capcom was a big nintendo supporter during the nes and snes days. They've also released more megaman games on nintendo systems than any other. And during the gamecube era, miyamoto said in an interview that they'd (nintendo) would be perfectly comfortable with having them (capcom) join us. He said it jokingly, but still. Plus don't forget that capcom is currently one of the few third parties still supporting the Wii U. I just don't believe that nintendo would stand ideally by with $15 billion in the bank and let capcom go under without lifting a finger to help them. They would be losing one of their only supporters.

Don't forget about the threat of Sony. Nintendo would most likely buy capcom just to keep sony from getting them. Sony already took square-enix. If they got capcom too, nintendo fans wouldn't have anything to look forward to besides nintendo's first party franchises.

Hmm good point. It would definitely be more of a blow to nintendo if sony got capcom, than to sony if nintendo got them. Sony already has a ton of development teams and third parties working for them. Losing capcom wouldn't effect them much at all. Nintendo on the other hand would feel the lost.

Don't know why, got pretty mediocre reviews

Dark souls fared much better and seemed almost untested lol

Because they managed to mess up Metroid, which many people had thought to be impossible.

Nintendo didn't mess up metroid. That was team ninja. Nintendo admitted that it sucked. And has since said that they're giving the series back to retro studios.

Street Fighter IV is amazing you can't bash Capcom for that. No other company can make a competitive fighting game these days as good as Capcom.
