is it possible to be a gamer... respecting only nintendo's games?

seriously,
I've been wondering this.

I'm 36 years old. I've seen it all, owned every brand. I love sony, m$, sega.

But you know, nintendo keeps me gaming.

It's the little things.

the games
the feel
the experience
the quality

sony should take classes

Yes it is possible to be a gamer.

They'd be a fanboy, but a gamer none the less.

On what? How to alienate the fanbase that made you successful.

I suppose in the same sense it's possible to be a foodie who only likes hot dogs.

I suppose it depends on the argument. If someone claiming to be a movie buff claims they can only respect Lucas' films then they better be able to defend the position pretty well.

If I support the game company, then I won't be supporting the blank DVD business.

I am 32 myself, and I feel you. Nintendo really does make some of the best games out there beyond a shadow of a doubt, it's just a shame they don't get the respect they deserve, even though it doesn't help that at times management makes some incredibly bone-headed decisions. Still, I'm more excited for Super Mario 3D World than I am for anything launching on PS4/XB1.

I do respect Sony as well, some of their IPs are wonderful, like Gran Turismo, Hot Shots Golf, WipEout, MotorStorm, and Twisted Metal. KillZone is also decent as well but if you ask me, it seems the quality of their games of late has taken a massive nosedive. I'm just not impressed with some of the stuff being presented as must-have games.
