Does Sony and Microsoft have their own IP's?

#1chillvPosted 11/7/2013 10:55:04 PM
Or do they solely rely on third parties to provide games on their systems?

MS has Halo, Gears of War, Forza and Fable as their main 1st party IPs.

Sony is kinda all over the place, hard to keep track of them, but basically anything made by naughty dog, God of War, Gran Turismo.

They have their own, but they just don't use a lot of them, sort-of like Nintendo right now.

Micrsoft has a bunch of IPs like Crimson Skies, Mechwarrior, Blinx the Cat, Age of Empires, Midtown Madness, Rare's games, and a lot of other series. The problem is that they stopped using their IPs after the 360 came out.

Sony, I know that Crash Bandicoot and Spyro and now third party games, they still have Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, and a few other games as well, but it seems like their taking the more mature route. Also, I don't know that much about Sony's IPs.

Some Microsoft IPs: Halo. Alan Wake. Fable.
Some Sony IPs: God of War, Uncharted, Sly Cooper, Jax and Daxter

EDIT: Not a full list obviously, just listing some IPs by each.

In what world is Alan Wake a first party Microsoft IP?

When I think xbone, I think Master Chief (Halo).
When I think Sony, I think Kratos (God of War).
When I think Nintendo I think Mario (Super Mario bros).

Gears isnt a first party IP and i do belive they are making a gears game for the ps4 and x1 as we speak. Until now though it was just published by microsoft. Very similar to what is going on with bayonetta 2 right now
