Both Microsoft and Sony have moved over a million units in just 24 hours. very good sign for the gaming industry.

Video games are more popular than ever; why isn't Nintendo sharing similar successes as their competitors? I want nothing more for than Nintendo to succeed, but this has to be a very bad sign. Just seems like Nintendo has completely lost the pulse of a generation.

Actually the PS4 is far more powerful than most people's PCs.

No, it's not. My PC is just mid-level; Intel's modern CPUs are estimated to be 10x more efficient than the 1.6ghz PS4 processor, and mine is overclocked to 4.7ghz. The GTX660 is only one step up from Nvidia's current lowest priced card, yet it's several notches above the PS4 GPU.

It's not hard at all to outperform the PS4 with modern components. The only way your statement could be true is if we're talking about general use PCs and not gaming PCs.

And for the record, I also play all my Wii titles on Dolphin. It is pretty much impossible to go back to SD now. But there's a huge difference between the Wii and the Wii U.

Emulated Wii U games that are already native 1080p or 720p would not look that impressive or exciting at 2000p the way that the Wii's 480p games did. They would mostly look the same, just with slightly clearer graphics and less aliasing. It would be comparable to tweaking the resolution settings of any modern PC game. Big deal.

I do not feel like I'm missing out on anything at all by playing games on the Wii U just because I can see a few more jaggies than on my PC. If you can't enjoy these games for how they play then I really feel sorry for you.

He is talking about general use PCs, which is what most people use.

Sony / Micro$oft target grown men. Nintendo targets 6 year olds and women, who play angry birds on iphone/pad for 99 cents. Why are they gonna spend $40 on games for kids when iphone entertains the 6 year old indefinitely for 99 cents? The family market for home console just isn't there. If ur not selling blood guts and porn, you got no place in the home console business today.

Today I learned that the a system's power is determined by resolution and nothing else. That makes my old Windows 95 PC more powerful than the original Wii.

Lol at all the nintendrones itt

Nintendo should pull a sega and just sell they're IPs to more competent companies, that or just stick to handhelds for now and eventually get beat there too by smartphones and tablets.

1. SEGA hasn't ever sold off IPs to 'more competent companies'. In fact, I don't think they've ever sold any of their IP

2. What companies are more competent at making games than Nintendo? I can't think of any and certainly not any that publish games at the clip Nintendo does.

"the U is selling horribly"

>"3ds best selling handheld of all time"

OHWOW HAHAHA

I hope nintendo get their act together. I don't want a 2 system bout, although the U is last gen but I digress.

They know what they're doing. If you're buying a Wii U as the main console for next gen, it would be hard to get super excited seeing as they're dragging their feet. I hope that they keep the pace though now and don't do like the Wii last gen and put out TONS of shovel ware.

So, it would seem that anyone who wants a PS4/XBone got one at launch. Why would this frustrate/depress Nintendo? A Wii U with 2 games is only $300, which is a drop in the bucket for someone who can afford a PS4/XBone + a game or two. Anyone who enjoys video games will most likely pick up a Wii U to accompany their third party machine.
