Is the N64 Nintendo's worst console?

Realistically, PS4/Xbone floodgates take up 1/2+ the Wii U's current install base. Moving forward, Nintendo will most likely lose out on a majority it's "promised" third party support for many reasons such as it's inferior hardware. Multiplats are a serious issue because of it's architecture.

Looking back @ the N64, Nintendo did some things that pissed off many 3rd party companies like Capcom and Square Enix for example, and made an enemy out of their biggest competitor Sony. N64 was completely devoid of 3rd party support during 5th Gen of gaming, but did it matter?

Then came the Gamecube. 3rd party was still absent but was starting to come back. Resident Evil 4 and Symphonia are ones I can think of, maybe Crystal Chronicles. But even with the support, Gamecube did commercially worst than the N64.

To tie this all together, will third party games make a difference for the Wii U? The N64 did better than the Gamecube and Wii U, but lacked 3rd party games. Shouldn't N64 be the worse off because of it?

Five years ago we were sick of all the Mega Man games. Now we can't get one to finish development.

Worst console for third party, sure. Tied with SNES for best first/second party, in my opinion.

No way! The Gamecube was much worse than N64.

N64 had better Mario game
N64 had a better Mario Kart
N64 had a better Zelda
N64 had a better Donkey Kong
N64 had better Mario Party
N64 had a better Star Fox
N64 had better platformers
N64 had better FPS
N64 had better wrestling games

N64 had much more innovation as well as more sales.

N64 was much better than Gamecube.

The N64 is arguably the best console. You just had to experience it in its day.
