Nintendo should talk tough to third parties.

There is a reason these franchises are dormant and lack of developers is not the problem.

Yes it is. Nintendo admitted that they're low on resources.

Plus they couldn't even do luigi's mansion dark moon. They had to outsource it to next level games. Who did a great job btw.

They wouldn't suddenly make sequels to flops or games that didn't sell enough in the past. The new developers would make more Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and other games that sell good numbers. No company wastes money just because they have enough to be able to do that.

But that sucks! I'm tired of the constant mario, zelda, pokemon, all the damn time. I want something different.

Nintendo use to be very tough with 3rd parties. Emperor Yama didn't use lube and was really rough and 3rd parties had to take it. Oh, yes. They still remember the "Dark Times". The crack of the whip. The deadline sweatshops. The pleading for creative leniency. How do you think Nintendo got into this situation? It wasn't just sticking with cartridges that led to this rebellion. With the world looking on, 3rd parties saw that as a viable excuse to get away from their abuser and took it. They fled to the safety of Sony and Sega and eventually MS. Nintendo was furious but donned The Public Mask of Stoicism and marched on to find new and eager 3rd parties to lull in. Even going as far as to buy some to make sure they they never got away.

Now Nintendo's Iron Gloves are rusted. They use the new tactic of having the unsuspecting 3rd parties add Nintendo themed content like Link armor in Monster Hunter 4 and additional themed costumes in Rayman. Oh yes. They are forever on the prowl.

The problem is that there aren't anywhere near enough OTHER people that want much more than that.

Dumb topic and and even dumber suggestion. "Talking tough" and threatening third-parties who clearly don't need or want you is your brilliant idea? If I were a publisher/developer and you were Nintendo..and threatened me like that...not only would I not support you, I'd help ensure you struggled as much as possible.

Children, adult-children....always the same people praising Nintendo for being different and doing things their own way and then blowing up the internet when they aren't supported like the status quo systems...it's like some of you belong in Middle School and have no real-world knowledge at all.

Yeah, because third-party developers haven't been doing that for about ten years now...

Well will the Wii u be able to get straight ports of the new 3rd party games on the ps4 and Xbox 1? I think this also plays a role. Idk if it can or not. But if it can't, that's more time and money to make it run. All without selling that many games. Since 3rd party games usually don't sell that great on Nintendo consoles.

the fact that they arent getting any now is fairly troubling. the early days of a console tend to be its weakest, I figured if anything it would get the early ones, with later on games sticking to xb1 and ps4.
