Asked whether From Software and Namco ever considered a Wii U port, Miyazoe bluntly replies: “No.” When asked why, he explodes with laughter. “Wii U never came up, and we never doubted that (decision) either,” he says. “It was more of a company decision, so I wasn’t the one that decided this, but I think the audience for the Wii U is a lot different from the audience for Dark Souls.”

Gaming is like a pair of boobs - Sony and Microsoft fight over whos boobs look more realistic, while Nintendo is about having fun with them - Walkiethrougie

I wish devs would try.
Hypothetically speaking, how much money would they lose if a Wii U version bombed anyway? Would they not profit from the other versions? Maybe releasing on digital only would help?

Third, "old" is one of the dumbest things you can post, seeing as how not everyone else has seen the same articles as you. To think the world shares your personal life experience is a really naive holy balls why am I explaining this for the 748th time on this board?

Also, I like "explodes with laughter". :)

All they have to do is throw the Master Sword and a Hyrule shield in the game somewhere and Nintendo fans will gobble it up.

Topics like this are misleading, there was never indication of Dark Souls 2 coming to Wii U.

Also, i'm a huge fan of the series and will be getting it on launch day.

Do point out where it says it's coming to any new gen system.

I'll wait.

PS3 - make money
xbox - make money
pc - make money
Wii U - lose money

This isn't you going to AC and gambling away $200. The losses would be in the millions. You pay a staff to port a game and optimize, you pay for packaging, you pay for shipping, then you sell 40K copies.

The guy is dead right. the vast majority of thrid party games bomb on the U. developer and publishers know this. Of course your average person will say stupid things like Oh they are salty from a deal, or these guys who do this for a living are wrong...but facts are facts.

Basically, but would Nintendo be willing to do something like that?

Tecmo Koei has a strong relationship with Nintendo, seeing as they've been trusted with Metroid and Pokemon in the past.

Dark Souls would definitely fit, with both Miiverse and with Nintendo's hardcore fanbase. It's on the same level as classic Mega Man games in terms of difficulty, and a bit easier due to it being an RPG.
